In Memoriam: Judy Fraser Lyon

LYON, Judy Fraser 1946 – 2018 We are sad to announce the death of Judy Fraser Lyon on October 18, 2018 after a brief illness. Judy was born in Montreal and raised in Pointe-Claire. She leaves behind her loving husband Michael and much-loved daughter Anna, as well as her dear Aunt Jean and many Allo family members out west. Judy was a teacher at Beaconsfield High School for 30 years, an active paddler at the Pointe-Claire Canoe Club, and talented member of several art groups. An avid reader, she was also a book club member, with at least one book always “in progress” at home. The love of exploring the natural world she shared with Michael took them on many trips around Europe and North America. Judy’s positive nature, her quiet wit and readiness to help out gained the respect and fondness of both her science students and acquaintances from her diverse activities. In her personal and professional life, the friendships she made remained life-long. A memorial service for Judy will take place at Cedar Park United Church, 204 Lakeview Avenue in Pointe-Claire at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30. Thanks to the staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital and West Island Palliative Care Residence. Donations in her memory to the Cedars Cancer Centre of the MUHC would be appreciated.
