JOHN Albert WHITMAN

April 5, 1939 – May 27, 2022

Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,

It seems to me most strange that men should fear,
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.”
Julius Caesar, Act II, Sc. Ii

John Albert Whitman lived his life to the fullest. A creative, curious and complicated man, he adored art, theatre and books and loved living in Paris and traveling with his wonderful wife of 33 years, Roselyne.

A deep thinker, vibrant conversationalist and talented teacher, John was well known for directing and producing extraordinary theatrical productions with students from Beaconsfield High School in Montreal, including Shakespeare’s Othello, Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet as well as Karel Capek’s Insect Comedy.
