DWYER, Joanne
(nee Bartholomew)
1952-2023
Joanne died peacefully February 20 at home with both her devoted husband Steve of 33 years and her adoring dog Jax at her side. She will be deeply missed by her mother Jeanne-D’Arc, her brothers Gary (Paula), Jean (Gail), Bobby (Eliane), her nieces and nephews, and many friends and colleagues.
Joanne will be fondly remembered by her students; her teaching career with the Lakeshore and Lester B. Pearson Boards spanned over 30 years. She was a very committed professional who always had the students’ best interest at heart: student life coordinator, stage lighting director, rugby coach, variety show co-director to name a few.
Joanne was an executive member of the Teachers’ Union. She will be remembered by her colleagues and friends as a “real character” who was witty, fun, a talented cook and always ready to take on new projects. While waging a courageous battle against MS, Joanne never complained or lost her sense of humor.
Sincere thanks to the Vaudreuil-Dorion CLSC home support caregivers for their compassion and care.
Visitations will be Friday, March 31 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be a Secular, Laïc Service from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20, Pointe-Claire, QC H9S 3X6.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian MS Society in Joanne’s name would be appreciated.
