TO: The members of the Alumni Association of Beaconsfield High School
Certain powers of the Executive Committee are set forth in Article 6 of the Constitution of the Alumni
Association of Beaconsfield High School:
20. d) The appointment of replacements, chosen from among the Association membership, to
vacancies on the Executive Committee. When the Executive Committee exercises this power, visible
notice…must be given to all Association members. In the event that a number greater than 15
members are opposed to the appointment, a General Meeting must be held and a vote taken on the
new appointment.
The following resolution was adopted on January 22 nd by your Executive Committee in order to
temporarily fill a vacancy, and you are asked to register any opposition to the two appointments
made:
WHEREAS Certain powers of the Executive Committee are set forth in Article 6 of the
Constitution of the Alumni Association of Beaconsfield High School: 20. d) The
appointment of replacements, chosen from among the Association membership, to
vacancies on the Executive Committee.
WHEREAS in a message sent January 8, 2023, Henriette Geerlings resigned from the
position of President of the Alumni Association of Beaconsfield High School; and
WHEREAS Article VI of the AABHS Constitution directs the Executive Committee to
appoint replacements, and give notice thereof to the Association members:
WHEREFORE IT WAS MOVED by Wayne Clifford and UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED:
THAT on an interim basis and until the Association’s May Annual General Meeting, the
positions of Secretary and President be merged, and, accordingly, suitable visible
notice be given to the membership.
In accordance with the provisions set forth in Article 6 of the AABHS Constitution, visible notice is
hereby given to the Association members, and, failing opposition by 16 or more members, the
appointment of Bill Stockwell as interim Secretary/President shall come into effect on 6 February
2023.
