Notice of Executive Committee Meeting

The Alumni Association of Beaconsfield High School will hold an Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday November 14, 2018, at the High School starting at 19h00. The purpose of the meeting is to review the AABHS Constitution, discuss any business arising from past meetings, and or new business as properly brought before the Executive Committee, to schedule subsequent and/or required Executive Committee meetings, confirm any vacancies on the Executive Committee, and to formally comply with all necessary legal obligations for this committee of volunteers.

BY-LAW IV – Meetings of the Executive Committee

  1. Notice of the monthly Executive Committee meeting must be posted for the information of Association members no later than seven (7) days prior to such a meeting.
  1. Members of the Association may attend any Executive Committee meeting in a non-voting, non-verbal capacity. Any petitions or topics for discussion must be submitted to the Executive Committee through the President, or in the absence of the President, any appropriate Executive Committee member, at least five (5) days prior to the meeting.
  1. The President shall set an appropriate part of the agenda and establish an adequate amount of time, in the President’s judgment, to deal with any question raised by an Association member. Input into the proceedings of the Executive Committee by non-members of that Committee can only be made at this time, except by specific invitation of the President.

BHS Alumnus to become head of Cambridge University


Stephen Toope, director of the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs, is set to become the next leader of Cambridge University, taking the helm of one of the world’s most prestigious institutions at a tumultuous time for Britain’s higher-education sector.

Dr. Toope, an international legal scholar and past president of the University of British Columbia, is the first non-Briton to be nominated as vice-chancellor at the 800-year-old institution.
